It's nice to see that there is an organization that promotes the istanbul armenians. We used to have a Bolsahye group in Boston when I was younger but eventually it disbanded due to lack of interest from the upcoming youth. Good luck in your future endeavors and I hope to visit your center on my next visit to L.A.

I am Verjine Svazlian daughter of Bolsetsi. I have repatriated to Armenia with my family in 1947 from Egypt. Now I am working at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography. I am folklorist and have books on the oral tradition of the Western Armenians.

I have visited your wanderful site www.oia.net . It was very nice to know about your nation preserving activities in the Diaspora. I appreciate it highly and congratulate your efforts.

In 2000 my book "The Oral Tradition of the Constantinople Armenians" was published. The book is written especially for the Diaspora, for it is in Western Armenian, and is written with Mesrobian orthography and in nowadays Bolis's dialect. It will help the Diaspora Armenians to learn and preserve their native language. I have inscribed the materials in 1996, 1997, while I was in Istanbul. There you may find many pleasant historical and folk materials concerning the past and present life of the Armenians of Bolis.

I have sale copies of that book. If you would find proper to help with the sale of that book, I would be very thankful to you. With the profit of that book I will pay for the translation of another book that will be interested to the foreigners, as well.
