LRAPER - LITERARY EVENING HONORS ROBER HADDEJIAN



ISTANBUL, 07/11/99 (Lraper) -- A successful literary evening at the Mekhitarian
Alumni Association Hall in Pangalti, Istanbul, honored Mr. Rober Haddejian, the
editor-in-chief of the "Marmara" Istanbul daily. Mr. Haddejian is also the
author of more than 35 books, six of which were published in 1999.

Poets and writers, Mr. Arto Cumbushian (Khrakhouni), Mr. Zareh Yaldizciyan
(Zahrad), Dr. Vart Shigaher, Dr. Ikna Sariaslan, Dr. Garo Garabedian (Anel), Mr.
Pakrat Estukyan and Archbishop Shahan Sivaciyan spoke of the works and person of
Mr. Haddeciyan, who thanked all the speakers and the nearly 200 friends and
readers who had attended the evening.

His Beatitude Patriarch Mesrob II of Istanbul closed the evening with a
congratulatory speech and blessings for all those who strive to keep the
Armenian culture well and alive in Istanbul, the center of Western Armenian
Literature for centuries.
