Lraper - PATRIARCH RECEIVED U.S. AMBASSADOR PATRIARCH RECEIVED U.S. AMBASSADOR ISTANBUL, 13/10/99 (Lraper) -- His Beatitude Patriarch Mesrob II of Istanbul and all Turkey received on 13 October, Wednesday, His Excellency the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia, Mr. Michael Lemmon, in the patriarchal headquarters in Kumkapi. During the one hour meeting, Ambassador Lemmon offered information to His Beatitude about "The Caucasus in Istanbul" Conference for Businessmen the objective of which is to secure the engagement of the businessmen of the three Caucasian republics in a regional cooperation. The Patriarch and the Ambassador also discussed their impressions of the Armenia-Diaspora Conference and the ecumenical relations between the Roman catholic Church and the churches of the Caucasus.
