What: Parajanov's "The Color of Pomegranates"

Misc: Directed by Sergei Paradjanov, 1969. The renegade
director has created a visually poetic tribute
to Armenian history through a series of vignettes
from the life of an 18th century Armenian troubador.
This subtly political film was held from release
until 1973 and ultimately led to Paradjanov's arrest.
